The ‘Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan II’ is a higher education, research, and development institution established in 1966 by Royal Decree, with legal personality and financial autonomy.
“To contribute to the sustainable development of agricultural systems and living resources for the benefit of society” – this is the mission of IAV Hassan II.
Today, IAV brings together more than 2,400 students, including nearly 200 international students from over 40 countries, 498 PhD candidates, and 147 lecturer-researchers covering around 70 scientific disciplines. Located across two campuses in Rabat and Agadir, the institute offers around thirty specialization programs and relies on research units, laboratories, and advanced facilities, including a Veterinary Teaching Hospital and an equine clinic.
The strength of IAV lies in the integration of education, research, and development, combined with a multidisciplinary approach that enables it to address current agricultural, environmental, and socio-economic challenges.
