Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar comprises six faculties covering all academic disciplines, offering a rich and diverse environment for research and doctoral training. The Human Geography Laboratory of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLSH) at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar is an interdisciplinary unit that brings together researchers interested in the most significant social transformations of the contemporary world. The laboratory, affiliated with the Doctoral School of “Human and Social Studies (ETHOS), contributes to understanding the challenges facing African territories, and more specifically those in Senegal (urban, rural, cross-border, etc.). The researchers employ diverse methodological approaches drawn from the humanities and social sciences, as well as geographic information systems (GIS). This interdisciplinary approach enables the laboratory to address complex issues related to spatial dynamics, social change, and territorial development, shedding valuable light on the specific contexts of Senegal and Africa as a whole.
