Erika Marques

Legal Counsel

Erika Marques is Legal Counsel at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam, and provides legal support to the Climares project.

With over nine years of experience at ISS, Erika advises on legal and contractual matters in large, international and interdisciplinary research programmes. Her work focuses on ensuring compliance, facilitating collaboration across institutional and national boundaries, and supporting the governance of complex consortia.

Before joining ISS, Erika worked as a research consultant for various international organisations, contributing to projects on sustainable development and knowledge exchange, particularly in African contexts. She brings a broad academic background in law, including private and corporate law, and a specialization in human rightsWithin Climares, Erika supports effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary, international environment, contributing to the project’s ambition to strengthen climate resilience through inclusive and well-governed partnerships.
